All students at
GuitarFX (children and mature age) have the option of participating in our Annual Student Performance.
The Annual Performance is a non-profit event and any proceeds from the ticket sales is to cover the associated costs with running such an events e.g. insurance, hall hire etc. The GuitarFX staff on hand are not being paid to attend and help out, nor are they "expected" to, they all willingly donate their time for the benefit of all students.
This performance is NOT an exam, and students are not be made to feel that they are being studied by taking part. It is purely a way for students to show their parents, relatives and friends in a relaxed atmosphere how their skills have developed throughout the year.
Students play one or two songs from their repertoire indicating their relevant level and growth throughout the study duration.
The course content is not altered in anyway to suit the performance, i.e. no new music pieces are introduced specifically for the performance. All students play a piece they already know and are comfortable with. Students choosing not to participate are in NO way disadvantaged and study the same music pieces in class to those students participating. Of course, students not participating in the performance are more than welcome to attend and support the other students.
It must be stressed that this performance is NOT COMPULSORY. No student is pressured into participating by GuitarFX, and we ask that all parents do the same. No student benefits from this pressure, and it certainly does not assist their learning process.
Students are able to gain personal confidence by playing an instrument in a way which makes them feel special. After all… music is meant to be fun and enjoyed by all.
