Hire guitars are available to all our students as a successful way for parents to determine a students' level of commitment without purchasing expensive instruments. After all, it's frustrating after buying a child a $200 guitar to hear them say "... I'd like to learn to play the piano now." By this time you've probably already paid for one full term of lessons added to the purchase cost of the guitar. Our Hire arrangements are aimed at avoiding this with hire plans starting from as low as $5 per week.

Hire agreements are on a month-by-month basis, paid 4 weeks at a time in advance with a $20 deposit which is fully refundable should the guitar be returned in excellent condition. The minimum hire period is one month.

All hire guitars come with a protective soft carry case to help students transport the instrument.

We offer both nylon or steel string guitars for hire, but recommend beginners only play nylon strings for their first year. The learning process on ‘new' fingers not yet broken in is always best on nylon strings, and there are many techniques beginners simply don't have the strength in their fingers to perform on a steel string guitar. Nylon strings offer less resistance and are less painful on soft finger tips. As the student progresses then other instruments may be investigated.

There is an option to purchase your hire instrument from GuitarFX after a hire period, or you can decide to purchase a new guitar.
